Alright, it’s time for #3 in this most eclectic collection of totally awesome songs! Using Audacity, I tried to make separate tracks out of some of the songs, but alas, a chatty DJ turned many of the song intros into anecdotes about whatever was going on back on Labour Day weekend, 1991. One such tidbit: “Santana has just gotten out of jail; he is now free to tour, free to enter Canada.” A month later he did. I didn’t get to see that show.

This tape came out strange; it doesn’t reflect the real sound of CFNY 102.1 as a whole. Classic rock was really not their thing. It seems like all these Van Morrison and Beatles and Rolling Stones songs ganged up on the mid-900s and sort of took over the hood. But fear not; we’ll be back to more of that post-punk goodness in no time!
